Provides supervision for preparation of plumbing and HVAC system design drawings and specifications for new construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projects. Projects will be of moderate to high complexity. Responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to designs of mechanical systems. Responsible for financial success of projects based upon mutually agreed fee structures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtains architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical data from documents, occupant interviews, and field measurements.
2. Communication with internal staff, clients, and other consultants / disciplines.
3. Coordinates and oversees preparation of floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for complex structures.
4. Compiles specifications and contract documents.
5. Performs field review of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to coordinate construction with plans and specifications.
6. Responsible for overall system design, sizing and layout, selection of components for systems, plumbing and / or HVAC design.
7. Responsible for preparation of cost estimates and in coordination of construction and renovation projects.
8. Understands AutoCAD concepts.
9. Mentor / train less experienced staff.
10. Conflict resolution with internal staff, clients, and other consultants / disciplines.
11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility. Minimum 10 years experience.
• PE in Nevada or ability to obtain preferred.

• Ability to perform field review and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
• Ability to perform system design functions.
• Thorough knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
